Kia Trademark Sound Named ‘The Rise of Surprise’
The all-new Kia trademark sound is called “The Rise of Surprise,” which is meant to be a follow-up to the brand’s slogan, which is “The Power to Surprise.” (Yes, Kia now has its own trademark sound. Until someone else questions Nissan for having its own scent, it’s probably not fair to judge anybody.)
The Kia trademark sound does serve a purpose. It’s a part of assonic branding, in which customers will associate the sound with the brand. This sound will play when drivers start and stop their vehicles; it will also play as a warning alert for several different warnings.
At first, the sound will be limited to the Kia Soul EV in overseas markets, as well as the Carnival MPV (which is known as the Sedona here in the U.S.). The sound will also make its way to TV ads, websites, mobile applications, and mobile ringtones. Yup, that’s right. You can download the sound (now, in fact) as your ringtone.
In total, there will be four different versions to the Kia trademark sound, meant for four different types of vehicles: eco-friendly, RVs, small/compact, and mid- to large-size sedans. Be on the lookout (or hear-out?) for the sound in the coming future.
