While minivans were once the go-to family vehicle, contemporary families are somewhat self-conscious about being labeled a “van family.” Chrysler is prepared to challenge those preconceptions with a new ad campaign.
Said campaign stars Jamie Foxx as the voice of a talking Chrysler Pacifica.

Jamie Foxx is one of the most recognized actors working in Hollywood today. Foxx won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as musician Ray Charles in 2004’s autobiographical film Ray, and has gone on to star in movies like Django Unchained, Dreamgirls, and Baby Driver.

Foxx’s latest role will see him voice a witty Chrysler Pacifica. In the commercial, entitled “Are We a Van Family?,” the talking Pacifica Foxx plays convinces a couple that it is the perfect vehicle for them, thanks to the van’s many features.
Among the features showcased during the commercial are the Pacifca’s hands-free dual sliding doors, class-exclusive Stow ‘n Go seating, and the available Uconnect Theater with two 10-inch touch screens. The commercial also mentions the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid option.

“As voiced by Jamie Foxx, whose bold and distinctive attitude matches that of the minivan, the campaign offers a fun and engaging way to both challenge the perceptions of minivan ownership and communicate to consumers the unparalleled features of both vehicles,” explained Olivier Francois, Chief Marketing Officer for FCA.
Chrysler enthusiasts should expect to hear more from Foxx soon, as the “Are We a Van Family?” commercial is just the first in a series of four videos, the rest of which will be released later this year.
