Many motorists are eagerly awaiting the upcoming release of the long-anticipated 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The Demon is a factory-built car designed specifically for the drag strip, producing 840 horsepower and reaching a quarter mile in just 9.65 seconds.
But do you know what’s even better than an 840-horsepower Dodge Demon? An 11,000-horsepower dragster decorated to resemble the Demon!
That’s precisely what Mopar/Dodge NHRA Top Fuel Dragster racer Leah Pritchett will be driving this weekend at the New England Nationals.
Guess Who’s Back?: Dodge Demon is Back
During the racing event, Pritchett and the Mopar/Dodge NHRA team will replace their traditional golden dragster, adorned with logos from Papa John’s Pizza, with a red and black model heavily decorated with the Dodge Demon’s iconic badge. Furthermore, Pritchett’s firesuit and her crew’s shirts will also bear the Demon branding.
The Demon dragster will later be used by Pritchett the following week at the Summernationals in Englishtown, New Jersey. Of course, this won’t be the racer’s first experience promoting Dodge’s future performance vehicle.
Pritchett had a hand in testing the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon during its production. She also played a role in the unveiling of the Demon during the New York International Auto Show earlier this year.
Pritchett states that racing the Dodge Demon-inspired dragster during the Summernationals will be a homecoming of sorts for her.
“My role in development of the Demon started at the Englishtown track last year and it will be very cool to see it come full circle when I drive my 330-mph Demon Top Fueler this weekend at Epping and then take it to Englishtown,” she stated.
Return of the Demon: Dodge Demon Is Coming Back
With professional racer Leah Pritchett playing such a large role in the development and promotion of the Dodge Demon, there is now more reason than ever to be excited for the drag-racing model when it is unleashed later this year.
