NBA superstar and new Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James recently took to Instagram to proclaim his love for the Kia K900, perhaps as a sign of solidarity with fellow Cleveland athlete/car salesman Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns.
Along with the photo, LeBron tweeted: “Rolling around in my K900. Love this car!! #Kia #TheLand #Akron #StriveForGreatness.” Other than the fact that LeBron is wearing an Akron wristband in the picture, we’re not sure why his hometown was hashtagged, unless maybe he got the car (or at least the tires) from a local dealership in the Rubber City.
LeBron recently signed a $42.1 million two year contract with the Cavs, which, as we have previously reported, would buy a hell of a lot of used cars in the Cleve (and pretty much any new car you could ever want, too). So the fact that James is driving around in the K900 – a luxury car known for its value, not its coveted nameplate – would suggest that this is probably a gift, and we wouldn’t be surprised to find ourselves reporting on a new Kia commercial starring LeBron James sometime in the very near future.
The Instagram pic garnered 223,000 likes and 7,676 comments, including this one from LeBron fan shizzmulaa:
We’re going to assume that in this context, “crossover” refers to a crossover dribble, but if shizzmulaa is talking about the possibility of LeBron developing a crazy crossover SUV for Kia, then yeah, it’s over. Game over, man. Game. Over.
