Lexus Partners with Barneys New York for December to Remember Campaign
The Lexus December to Remember sales campaign is back for the holiday season, big red car bows and all. While we have come to expect the automaker’s holiday-themed ads, this year Lexus has gone a step further, forming a partnership with famed luxury retailer Barneys New York.
Once again, the theme of the holiday TV spots is Santa’s secrets to getting the job done, and the first commercial features the fun idea that the big man uses snowglobes to deliver gifts. The second commercial is called “Racetrack” and features penguins racing remote control versions of the Lexus IS.
The penguin-themed spot is where Barneys New York comes in. To mirror the commercial, one of the famed Barneys’ windows has been set up to feature penguins surfing over bejeweled models of the Lexus GS F, RC F, and IS. The models run on a slot car track, reminiscent of the sets children open on Christmas Day. The window display even has a custom soundtrack.
For adults and children that want a remote-controlled Lexus of their own, Barneys New York will have a limited number of the toys for sale through their mailer, online, and in their New York or Beverly Hills locations.
Finally, to add a final sprinkle of fun to the promotion, visitors to Barneys in Beverly Hills will be able to enter to win a Barneys gift card when they visit the full-sized Lexus LX SUV in the store. Also, visitors to Lexus showrooms will be able to enter to win gift cards to the luxury retailer. The grand prize will be a $10,000 gift card to Barneys New York, in addition to travel, accommodations, and the services of a personal shopper at the store.
Suddenly, those bright red bows seem a bit more exciting. The December to Remember sales event ends on January 4th.
