Don’t look now, but Lincoln might be one of the hottest brands in auto industry. Lincoln posted September sales of 7,257 units—a 12.5% year-over-year increase and the brand’s best September sales performance in four years—with the inimitable MKC charging up the charts and making a push to become Lincoln’s premier model.

The Lincoln MKZ led all sales with 2,176 models sold, but it was down 24.3% from its sales mark from September 2013 (2,874 models). Lincoln’s biggest gainer was the Navigator, which returned to its ways of sales gains by posting a 23.8% with 1,013 vehicles sold.
The MKS and MKT were down double digits (-41.6% and -37.4 percent, respectively), consistent with down years where both models have fallen off of the previous year’s pace by at least 20 percent.
The big story for Lincoln once again was the MKC, which sold 1,763 examples in September and continued the exponential wave of popularity it has ridden since debuting in late May. Having surpassed sales of the MKX (1,589 vehicles, up 1.5% percent from 2013), the MKC seems poised to overtake the MKZ and become the Lincoln brand’s best-seller by year’s end.
To date, Lincoln sales are up 13.3% from 2013; the MKC accounts for 6,418 vehicles of Lincoln’s 67,788 overall sales figure.
