General Motors South Africa’s Louis Maritz has been named the new General Manager of Vehicle Sales, Service, and Marketing for General Motors Israel, effective July 1st.
Maritz has been a part of General Motors for 21 years, working in manufacturing, supplier quality, after sales, and industrial engineering for General Motors South Africa and with General Motors’ Sub-Saharan Africa Operations. “My immediate priority is to make sure that we focus on growing our sales volumes through superior customer experience and that we continue to bring the right product to our Israeli consumers,” said Maritz. “This exciting new challenge gives me the opportunity to expand my experience in a highly advanced and competitive vehicle sales and service market.”
The 47-year-old holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
General Motors’ sales in Israel totaled 13,400 vehicles. Currently, the automaker has two distributors in the country responsible for products from the Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Opel brands.
