Lyft Goes Purple in Support of Alzheimer’s Association

Lyft Goes Purple

Lyft spreads the Purple in honor of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, unrolling a June initiative to help fund the Alzheimer’s Association.

The popular rideshare service Lyft has just announced its June partnership with Alzheimer’s Association, in honor of Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. Although Lyft already serves the senior community via its current collaborations with CareLinx and Comfort Keepers, the June initiative expands its sphere of influence to support seniors battling Alzheimer’s and the individuals who take care of them.

Founded in 1980, Alzheimer’s Association started as a small group of individuals and their caregivers for the sake of promoting research on the disease. After a few decades of service, this nonprofit is still running strong. It continues to advance its mission of promoting research, advancing brain health, and supporting impacted individuals, as well as their families and providers. Considering that Alzheimer’s is the 6th leading cause of fatality in the U.S. and that 1 in 3 seniors dies from either Alzheimer’s or dementia, the organization is definitely a worthy cause to join forces with.

By partnering with Alzheimer’s Association, Lyft adds its voice to the nationwide plea for finding a cure to this horrible disease that currently affects an estimated 5.5 million people in the U.S. alone. Consider going purple this month by jumping on board Lyft’s June initiative to help fund the Alzheimer’s Association’s research, advocacy, and patient care efforts.

For each new user that uses the code ENDALZ during June, Lyft will donate $5 to this org. The company is also giving new users a $5 credit towards their first ride. If you would like to participate, go to the Lyft website to activate this code.
