May 2015 is the Fifth Record Month in a Row for Mercedes-Benz
May was another successful month for Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes sales in the month of May were up 11.1% from May of last year. 29,583 Mercedes-Benz vehicles were sold at retail last month, while 26,617 were sold in May of 2014. Additionally, May Sprinter sales came in at 2,769, a 22.3% increase from 2,264 during May of last year.
According to Stephen Cannon, the president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, the GLE Coupe was one the leading vehicles in sales. The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe will be prominently featured in this summer’s Jurassic World.
Other sales leaders included the C-Class, with 7,413 vehicles, the M-Class, with 3,991 vehicles, and the E-Class, following close behind with 3,942 vehicles. C-Class sales are up by 40.3% from May of last year, where 5,284 units were sold.
The CLA-Class had the largest monthly increase, with a 132% increase between May of 2014 and May of 2015.
May will be the fifth record month for Mercedes-Benz in a row. In April, 29,188 vehicles were sold, an increase of 12.8% from the 25,887 vehicles sold in April of 2014. All together, Mercedes-Benz reports a year-to-date grand total of 150,868 units. That equates to a 9% increase from 2014’s year-to-date grand total of 138,374.
