The May Hyundai sales results are in, and it’s all good news for the Korean automaker. Reportedly, Hyundai Motor America saw its best month ever—yes, ever—last month, with sales of 70,907 units. This marks a 3.7 increase over May 2013.

“Our excellent spring selling season continued through the month of May with dealerships across the country seeing an increase in customers visiting their showrooms,” said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of national sales, Hyundai Motor America. “From Accent to our two CUVs, all the way to Equus, we saw double-digit gains over last May.”
Specifically, Hyundai’s premium sedans, the Equus and the Genesis, saw marked increases. Sales of the Equus were up 26 percent over last May, and sales of the Genesis were up 24 percent. The 2015 Sonata began sales on Saturday, May 30, and the Tucson Fuel Cell Vehicle begins deliveries a week from yesterday in California.
Certified Pre-Owned sales were up 26 percent over last May.
