Mercedes is offering a limited Edition 1 model of the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe to celebrate its launch, upgrading the new four-door model with some added features to make it more aesthetically lavish.
Keep It Around For Longer: Why routine vehicle maintenance is important
This 63 S Edition 1 has the same 630 hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as other AMG GT sports cars, capable of accelerating to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and reaching a top speed of 195 mph. With four-wheel drive as a default, the GT63 features a drift mode that lets the rear wheels take over for some excitement on the road.
What makes the Edition 1 special from the standard GT63 S is its aerodynamic package, which allows the Edition 1 to gain downforce without generating additional drag. This design features a larger front splitter, special optimized diffuser, and fixed, adjustable rear spoiler, making it aerodynamically efficient.
All Edition 1 models come with the same sleek paint job — Graphite Grey Magno with Graphite Grey stripes — that is complemented nicely by its matte black 21-inch AMG wheels. The interior is as impressive as the exterior, with a pop of yellow in the stitching and seat belts among Nappa leather upholstery and carbon fiber trim. To finish off the visuals, Mercedes is appealing to another sense — smell — with a special AMG #63 fragrance.
These aerodynamic and cosmetic upgrades are exciting additions to this highly-anticipated car from Mercedes. Arriving in the U.S. in early 2019, the Edition 1 model of the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe surely won’t hang around on dealer lots for long.
