Mitsubishi is basically handing the industry a crystal ball to help see the brand’s future. At the Tokyo Motor Show later this month, Mitsubishi is unveiling an electric compact SUV concept car called the eX Concept. Word is, this concept is a showcase of Mitsubishi’s next-generation technologies and an entirely new take on the brand’s characteristic design.
The eX Concept twists the brand’s Dynamic Shield front design, highlighting a smaller grille, slimmer headlights and larger Daytime Running Lights. This, along with a “floating roof” feature at the rear, gives the concept SUV a more stylish look. Mitsubishi has stated the eX combines the “elegance and stylishness of a shooting brake with compact SUV lines.”

If these design changes and new technologies truly do show the future of Mitsubishi, then we have to say—we can’t wait to see what else the Japanese carmaker has in store.
