Ford and Multimatic celebrated the Fourth of July with some fireworks all their own, announcing the limited-edition Ford GT Mk II at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Now, before you go thinking, “Oh, at last, another opportunity for me to get my hands on this super-cool supercar,” there are a few caveats you need to keep in mind about the Ford GT Mk II revealed at FoS:

Now that you fully understand that the Ford GT Mk II is not something you can drive or own ever, we can get into the particulars. The Mk II is like the Ford GT and Ford GT race car did a fusion dance, built around improved aerodynamics and power. The new GT Mk II gets more than 400 percent more downforce than the street-legal GT, it’s 200 pounds lighter, and it gets 200 more horsepower than the race car thanks to its reconfigured 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6.

So, more powerful to the tune of 700+ horsepower and more aerodynamic to the extent that it generates, like, a mountain of downforce. Got it. Maybe $1.2 million is a fair asking price.

Multimatic will sell the Ford GT Mk II directly to customers who send inquiries over through FordGTMkII.com. All 45 of them. Since you won’t get one, just kick back, relax, and enjoy all of these cool photos of a car you’ll probably never so much as sniff.
