New IVObility Robot Can Drive Every Vehicle
After years of discussing the possibility of self-driving cars, car manufacturers have recently been developing self-driving cars. However, IVObility takes this innovation to a whole new level with the creation of a robot that can drive any vehicle.

Features of the IVObility robot
The company behind this new robot is IVObility: an Israeli startup that has already successfully created the HydroCamel, which is a self-piloting submarine. With its new robot, IVObility is approaching the idea of self-driving cars in their own unique way.
The robot is meant to sit in the driver’s seat and operate the vehicle by itself. Thanks to its mechanical extremities, the robot doesn’t need custom cars to be able to drive. It should be able to function in virtually any vehicle. Accordingly, new vehicles shouldn’t need to be developed for the robot.
The robot is built in a way that vaguely resembles a human, having arms to steer and legs to push pedals. The robot also has cameras that allow it to take in the view of the road. In a sense, the robot watches the road in a way that’s similar to us.
IVObility is currently working on the creation of three different versions of the robot, including fully autonomous, semi-autonomous, and remote controlled. While all of this sounds intriguing, the company does not intend to release the robot until 2020. Additionally, the initial product launch is only for vehicles that stay off public streets, such as vehicles for agriculture and mining.
Innovative Technology: 2020 Dodge Journey
There is currently no official plan for a consumer version of the robot. However, we at The News Wheel will let you know if there are any announcements in regards to this robot or any other self-driving technology moving forward.
