Nissan Celebrates Beginning Of 2019 Altima Production
There are a lot of things that go into creating a new generation of a well-loved model like the Nissan Altima. From conception to engineering and design, everyone puts in the effort to get to a successful reveal at an event like the New York International Auto Show. Once the new car is unveiled, however, there is still plenty of work to be done in retooling plants to handle the new product. The process is finally complete in Mississippi, and the whole team is celebrating the first 2019 Nissan Altimas to roll off of the assembly line.
Nissan’s large plant in Canton, Mississippi is the home of manufacturing for the sixth generation Altima. Over the past 25 years of model history, more than 5.6 million vehicles have been built. While for many shoppers the Altima represents a safe choice, Nissan hopes to revitalize its image with updated exterior styling and two new engine options. This Altima is the first Nissan sedan in the US to come available with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, and it also has an impressive list of standard safety technologies.
