Although the 2018 Kia Sorento is the least expensive spot holder on the list, U.S. News & World Report Writer Eileen Falkenberg-Hull noted it more than holds its own against the pricier SUVs in the Top 10, no matter which engine or trim you choose.

“The Kia Sorento features excellent fit and finish in its interior. Upper trims feature premium materials, and all grades feature a quiet ride,” she adds.

The 2018 Kia Sorento is available in seven trim levels: L, LX, LX V6, EX 2.0T, EX V6, SX, and SX Limited and features three engine choices. With the standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, the Sorento churns out 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The available 3.3-liter V6 paired to the same transmission generates 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and standard transmission allows the Sorento to put out 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
