Opel has logged its 1 millionth sale in 2016 just days into November, hitting the seven-figure sales mark two weeks earlier than it did last year. Opel’s sales through the first 10 months of 2016 were up by more than 45,500 units year-over-year at over 977,000 vehicles delivered.

“Opel’s upward trend is continuing. These numbers show that our new models are well received,” said Vice President Sales & Aftersales Peter Christian Küspert. “And in 2017 we will raise the stakes when we launch seven new models. That is more than ever before in Opel’s history and our customers can already look forward to it. Our new arrivals will also give us a stronger presence in markets segments with a lot of potential.”

Earlier this week, Opel announced its “7 in 17” model offensive that will see the launch of seven new models next year. In addition to the Ampera-e, Insignia Grand Sport, Insignia Sports Tourer, and Insignia Country Tourer, Opel revealed that it will be launching a next-generation version of its Vivaro van. More excitingly, it was revealed that 2017 will see the launch of two new crossovers: the Crossland X, which will be launched in close proximity to the new MOKKA X, and an as-yet unnamed crossover that appears to be aimed at appeal through sportiness.

Through the first 10 months of the year, Opel has sold approximately 235,000 Astras, and orders for the recently-released MOKKA X have already surpassed 75,000 orders.
