It’s time to celebrate at the Ford Motor Company as it welcomes a new member to the Ford Thailand Manufacturing (FTM) plant’s production lineup. The all-new Ford EcoSport urban SUV began production last week at the company’s Rayong, Thailand- based plant, making it the fourth global Ford plant to build the EcoSport. It joins other facilities in Chennai, India, Chonqing, China, and Camcari, Brazil.

“The all-new EcoSport continues our ongoing product-led transformation by providing customers with another segment-leading vehicle to our growing Ford showroom across our ASEAN markets,” said Matt Bradley, president, Ford ASEAN.

All Thai-built models will either be sold domestically or exported to a variety of markets across the ASEAN region, allowing the EcoSport to eventually be sold in 100 markets worldwide. This reflects the American carmaker’s goal to expand more globally over the course of the next few years.

As for the Ford EcoSport Urban SUV itself, the vehicle offers both versatility and technology that keeps its drivers connected, making it the perfect alternative to a compact car in bustling global cities. It has the capability to handle not only urban roads, but also the difficult terrains that can be found throughout the ASEAN regions.
