Ford Performance and Neil Woodridge Motorsport (NWM) have announced the addition of Puma Lubricants as a co-sponsor for the three Class T Ford Rangers that will participate in the 2017 South African Cross Country Series.

Puma Energy is sold in 49 countries across five continents, but its primary markets are Africa, Central Africa, and Asia-Pacific. The company boasts more than two decades’ worth of lubricant expertise, which makes it a prime candidate for sponsoring the trio of NWM racers.

“Puma Energy—and, more specifically, its Lubricants division—is extremely excited to be a part of this sponsorship,” said Richard Beckers, Lubricants Manager for Africa, Puma Energy. “The opportunity to demonstrate to the motor racing industry the quality and performance of our lubricants is a great honor for our brand. We have always stood for quality, performance, and reliability, which are attributes we share with Ford Performance. It is for this reason that we are proud to support the Ford Performance NWM team for the 2017 SA Cross Country Series.”

The Pietermaritzburg-based NWM co-developed the FIA Class T1-spec Rangers with Ford Performance in the United States and is the global manufacturer and supplier for the program, having built 16 vehicles for both local and international competition. The Ford Performance NWM team finished a mere 68 seconds out of the championship spot in Class T competition for the 2016 SA Cross Country Championship season, and it looks to claim its rightful place at the top of the heap in 2017 with the help of Puma Lubricants.

“We have proven our pedigree, and with the backing of Ford Performance and Puma Lubricants, the team is more confident than ever of being the leading contender in Class T and bringing the title home in 2017,” said Neil Woolridge, team principal of Neil Woolridge Motorsport.
