“The Ram 1500 just keeps getting better and is once again our Top Rated Truck for 2020,” said Alistair Weaver, editor-in-chief, Edmunds. “We still love its technology, interior built quality, ride comfort and capability, but the new EcoDiesel variant introduced this year delivers even stronger fuel economy, more torque and improved towing capability. The Ram 1500 easily remains the most desirable pickup truck on the market.”
For 2020, the Ram 1500 impresses with a new 260 horsepower-rated 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine, which boasts a rating of 480 lb-ft of torque, a number unmatched in the half-ton pickup truck segment. When equipped with the available fuel tank of 33 gallons, the 2020 Ram 1500 can keep drivers on the road for more than 1,000 miles. When properly equipped and powered by the new V6 EcoDiesel, the 2020 Ram 1500 makes easy work of heavy loads with a 12,560-pound towing capacity.
In addition to the EcoDiesel V6 engine, drivers can also choose between a 3.6-liter eTorque Pentastar V6 engine rated at 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with variable-valve timing rated at 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, and a 5.7-liter HEMI eTorque HEMI V8 with VVT that generates 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque to power the 2020 Ram 1500.
