The 2017 Ram Rebel TRX Concept could give the 2017 Ford Raptor a run for its money

Ford, it’s time for you to step aside. Ram is about to make the pickup truck segment an offer it can’t refuse. The American truck brand recently unveiled a brand-new concept truck that is capable of eating the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor whole—and this concept is definitely hungry.

Ram unleashed the Ram Rebel TRX concept on Thursday, showcasing a vehicle that has some unbelievably sexy styling cues. Better yet, this concept car is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that churns out 575 horsepower.

Yup, you read that right. This is a Ram Rebel model powered by a Hellcat. All that rugged capability with a deliciously powerful engine? Yes, please.

The Hellcat engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic, just like other Hellcat models. It has the same front axle as the Ram 1500 and the same link coil setup as the production model. The Rebel TRX’s exterior is pretty awesome, especially when paired with its beefed up suspension, thick 37-inch tires, and bypass shocks.

This concept truck is about as close as we’re likely to get to a factory Hellcat Ram 1500, but it is absolutely outrageous. The sound of its engine alone, which you can hear in the below video, is enough to make you wet your pants with excitement.

While we know that it’s just a concept, thanks to the Head of Ram’s US branch Jim Morrison, Ram is considering a future production version. Since the Rebel is reaching the end of its current cycle, here’s hoping that we will see this production version sooner, rather than later.
