As Halloween approaches, it’s the perfect time to plan a fall road trip. The Badger State provides quite a few eery destinations to explore this season. Here are four spook-tacular sites in Wisconsin that are worth adding to your itinerary

Seasonal Makeover: Update your vehicle with these nifty accessories

The Pfister Hotel

At first glance, Milwaukee’s The Pfister Hotel appears to be your average upscale, historical hotel. However, despite the gilded architectural details and ceiling murals, this place has established a haunted reputation. Some guests have claimed that ghosts triggered the staticky TV and radio reception in their room. Per Thrillist, some members of the Cardinals team slept in the same suite after witnessing a phantom’s torso.

Boy Scout Lane

As the name implies, Boy Scout Lane in Linwood gets its name for an unfortunate event associated with this special-interest group. Legend has it that a local troop once traveled down this lane with lanterns. One of the scouts dropped a lantern, triggering a fatal forest fire. To this day, some eyewitnesses report seeing lanterns flicker on the sides of the road.

Siren Bridge

If family ghosts are your thing, head to Siren, Wisconsin to experience this cursed bridge. Per Thrillest, the bridge gets its name from the Siren family whose car hit an icy spot when traveling across it. The car overturned into the river below, where the whole family drowned. Some local residents report that when they drive over the bridge, the radio station they’re listening to fades out and they hear the spirit of the young Siren daughter yelling for help.

Dartford Cemetery

Green Lake’s Dartford Cemetery is another location that should give you goosebumps. Visitors have reported seeing the specters of a Civil War platoon march over the grounds. Some also claim they’ve been shoved by unseen forces when they visit Jackson Walker’s mausoleum. You might also encounter the apparition of Chief Highnocker, a member of the Ho-Chunk tribe who purportedly drowned in a river when he tried crossing it on foot.
