Senior Leadership Changes Announced at Nissan

July 1, will mark significant senior leadership changes at Nissan Mexicana. This shift in management coincides with outstanding sales leadership for 10 years in a row.

Mayra González, current president and managing director, Nissan Mexicana, will take the position of division general manager, Global Sales, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., in Japan. José Roman, will assume the responsibilities of president and managing director, Nissan Mexicana. Roman’s previous position is as corporate vice president, Global Datsun Business Unit, NLM. Roman’s career in the automotive industry spans 20 years, and he started as regional vice president of sales for Nissan Mexicana in 2012. Just five years later, Roman earned the title of the top global executive at Datsun.

“Nissan is fortunate to have an established global leader like José Roman returning to Mexico to maintain our top position and grow our brand in this critical market,” said José Luis Valls, president and chairman, Nissan North America. “We thank Mayra for her three years leading the team in Mexico, and we look forward to her contribution in her new role with the global sales organization.”

Roman will report to Jose Luis Valls, senior vice president, chairman of the Management Committee for North America.

In addition to his role as chairman of the Management Committee for Africa, Middle East, and India, Peyman Kargar, senior vice president, will assume the responsibility of overseeing Datsun.

In the states, Nissan recently announced that Erik Fields is now the vice president, Manufacturing, at its Canton Plant in Mississippi, the Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant.
