South African Celebs Test Drive Opel Astra at Kyalami Racetrack
South African celebrities tested out the award-winning Opel Astra during a demonstration at the Kyalami Racetrack last month, taking the 2016 European Car of the Year out for a spin on the track and experiencing first-hand just what has made it so successful with critics and consumers alike.
“Now lighter than its predecessor, the Opel Astra is also more fuel economic thanks to the Stop/Start technology and boasts the IntelliLink Touch screen with satellite navigation and advanced infotainment” said Lunga Ntsendwana, Product Communications Manager at GMSA.
Among the famous faces taking the Opel Astra out on the famous Kyalami Racetrack were hip-hop artist Emtee, ANN7 news anchor Abigail Visagie, and Skeem Saam star Natasha Thahane. Each celebrity ran laps around the track to experience the raw performance of the Astra as well as its multitudinous features. Afterwards, everybody enjoyed lunch together. Sounds pretty quaint!
Said Emtee of the experience, “This is the by far one of coolest and slickest car designs. The Astra is so stylish and I love that the technology is so current. The sound quality and touch screen technology really impressed me.”
“It was such an exhilarating drive and I learnt so much about handling the curves. I was amazed by how well The Astra handled the curves with such ease whilst still feeling so comfortable,” said Thahane.
GMSA offers the Opel Astra with the Opel Complete Care package, which includes a five-year/120,000-kilometer warranty and a five-year/90,000-kilometer service plan. Prices start at R 264,300.
