Last week, Chevrolet announced the University of Texas Edition for the 2015 Chevy Silverado. This week, it’s time for the Silverado’s sibling truck, the 2015 GMC Sierra, to take the spotlight. In honor of that notion, General Motors today announced the 2015 Sierra Carbon Edition, which is meant to add some flair to the already distinctive pickup.

“The beauty of the new Sierra lies in its strength and sophistication,” explained Stuart Pierce, Sierra marketing manager. “But for customers wanting to stand out and make a strong statement, the Sierra Carbon Edition models are the answer.”

There are three 2015 Sierra Carbon Edition models: the standard Carbon Edition, the Carbon 20 Edition, and the Carbon 22 Edition. Each model is powered by a standard 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6, which produces 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque and yields 24 mpg. A 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8, good for 355 horsepower, is optional. All three Carbon Edition models are available with two- or four-wheel drive.
