Starbucks Partners With Lyft to Offer Lyft Gift Cards in Stores
When you’re jones-ing for a caffeine fix, there’s nothing more necessary than getting to a Starbucks as quickly as possible. Because Starbucks is all-knowing—along with being ridiculously expensive—it’s decided to help you get around quicker so you can get your cuppa Joe faster than ever, too.
Starting last week, the coffee chain has begun selling gift cards for the Lyft rideshare service in its stores. For the first time ever, you will be able to not only purchase your skinny vanilla latte with soy milk and no foam but also a $20 Lyft card for your morning commute.
Even better? When you purchase your $20 Lyft credit, you also get a $5 Starbucks gift card.

This isn’t the first time Starbucks and Lyft have teamed up together. Lyft drivers were given the opportunity to opt in to the Starbucks Rewards program’s Gold Level in 2015. This level would give them the occasional free cup of coffee and other various rewards. Last year, riders were even able to give their awesome Lyft drivers a Starbucks gift card as a tip, too, and some Starbucks employees in the Bay Area can even have free Lyfts if they work a super late or super early shift.

So these gift cards are really just another big step towards making the partnership between the two companies even more concrete. The gift cards are offered in Starbucks located in 20 of Lyft’s biggest cities.
Starbucks Rewards users can even get 125 stars, which will get you a free cup of coffee, if you sign up for Lyft and link your Starbucks account. If that’s not an incentive, we’re not sure what is.
