Best-Ever February Sales for Subaru

There’s nothing like leaving the competition in the snow.

It’s what makes Subaru, Subaru: continued growth month-over-month.

The automaker starts its March off with a good report, indicating its best-ever February sales with 49,081 vehicles sold here in the United States. This ups the brand’s yearly total to 95,153 units.

Last month marked almost 4 percent more sold units than in February 2018. While year-over-year growth is impressive, more remarkable is its successful stretches of record sales.

February’s performance gives Subaru 87 straight months of yearly and monthly increases in sold cars. This includes now 60 consecutive months of 40,000 or more vehicles sold. The Forester has at least 10,000 sales in each of the last 67 months, and the Outback follows suit with 60 consecutive months.

President and CEO of Subaru Tomas J. Doll says that the credit goes to its retailers and the awards it recently collected from Consumer Reports.

“We are proud and humbled by the accolades our brand and vehicles recently received including Consumer Reports’ naming Subaru the “Best Overall Brand” in their annual Brand Report Card, as well as our Crosstrek, Forester and Ascent SUVs each ranking first in their respective categories in Consumer Reports’ latest car ratings,” said Doll.

The strong results from the three-row Subaru Ascent and all-new Forester achieved dividend results. Subaru sold 13,133 Foresters last month — a 12.8 percent increase from 2018 — while the Ascent moved 6,160 units.
