Buick just won’t stop debuting new models. Having already introduced the redesigned LaCrosse, the all-new Cascada, and the Envision compact SUV, the American luxury automaker has just released new details about the 2017 Buick Encore.

The new Buick Encore will feature a redesigned exterior that comes complete with LED headlights, body-colored heated outside mirrors, chrome exhaust outlet, and a brand new 18-inch wheel design. The rear fascia will also sport LED signature taillamps and the new tri-color badge will make an appearance on the Encore’s winged grille.

“Sporting cues first shown on the award-winning Avenir and Avista concepts, the 2017 Encore embraces Buick’s modern design aesthetic,” said Holt Ware, design director, Buick Exteriors. “The Encore is a crossover known for its presence – the appearance is sleek, muscular and modern.”

As for the vehicle’s interior, a greater emphasis has been placed on the materials used in the Encore’s cabin, and the IntelliLink system will be compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. New standard features for the ‘17 Encore include push-button start and keyless unlock technology.

There will be five distinct trim levels offered with the new Encore and most of those will be powered a 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with direct injection and stop/start technology. Buick says this engine will provide more power than previous Encore offerings, but stopped short of providing specific performance numbers.

“The Buick Encore created the premium small SUV segment and remains the top choice for customers seeking premium features and dependability coupled with timeless design,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick Sales, Service and Marketing. “In a rapidly evolving segment, the Encore continues to lead with smart, purposeful updates and a new level of technology-infused elegance and refinement.”

The 2017 Buick Encore is scheduled to go on sale this fall.
