Just when we got past the pickup bed battle of 2016 between Chevy and Ford, another car company is back to showing how tough its truck bed really is in a new video.

Some critics raised an eyebrow when the GMC Sierra carbon bed became a reality. While its light-weighted material is fairly strong, its expensive and shattering natures make it costly to buy and hard to fix. The idea of adding a durable material like carbon fiber to a sturdy pickup truck seemed initially questionable.

GMC has worked to silence the doubters though in a new action-packed video, which you can watch below.

The video shows several instances where cinder blocks, a 55-gallon barrel, and sledgehammers take their hacks against the beautiful carbon fiber bed of the GMC Sierra pickup truck. The sledgehammer even teams up with cinder blocks to take down the bed. My heart breaks for the Sierra as I watch the shots it takes to the face.

Thankfully, the short film has a happy ending. After all of the beatings, the GMC Sierra carbon bed withstands the trial and gets some love and care with a steady brushing. That has got to feel good after the countless lashes it took from its adversaries.

Carbon fiber runs on the floor, front, and the wheel arches with steel fenders enclosing it on the outside. With the carbon fiber bed and tailgate, the GMC Sierra is down 62 pounds from the standard steel bed.

What’s Next: For the GMC Sierra?

Take it from us. The GMC Sierra carbon bed is as strong as a rock, but it will cost consumers. The GMC AT4 CarbonPro Edition has a $66,000 MSRP; while the carbon-fibered Sierra Denali sets you back $70,000.

For those of you with older trucks, don’t press your luck.
