For me, it would have to be either semi trucks in the left two lanes on the highway or drivers riding my tail. The first tests my patience, and the second just has me on the edge.
My list of driving-related pet peeves seems to grow longer every year. *yells at cloud* Sorry, where was I? If only one peeve could be my pet, it would be those steroidal, jacked-up trucks that always seem to leave their brights on as they aggressively tailgate smaller vehicles on the back roads of rural Ohio. Yeah, I’m getting cranky just thinking about it.
I can’t stand people who drive in the left lane without passing traffic. If people are coming up behind you and there is room on the right, you should be merging over to let them through. I’ve seen it start small traffic jams on a few occasions. To be fair, I don’t really blame the drivers for this. It’s really a failure of the driving education system, as most people who cruise in the left lane legitimately have no idea that they’re not supposed to do that.
One of my top pet peeves is truckers (and drivers of other large vehicles) who suddenly merge onto the highway or change lanes when there’s not sufficient space to do so. A little patience and thoughtfulness on their part would go a long way in helping drivers of smaller vehicles stay (and feel) safer.
