In total, Toyota’s Olympic fleet will consist of approximately 500 fuel cell electric vehicles and 850 battery electric vehicles, such as the Mirai hydrogen-powered car and the plug-in hybrid Prius Prime. The automaker estimates that this fleet will average less than 80 g/km of carbon emissions, which is about half of what a similar fleet of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles would produce. This would give Tokyo 2020 the lowest emissions level of any Olympic and Paralympic Games thus far.
