Toyota’s TRD division is known for its powerful off-road versions of the Tundra and Tacoma trucks, and the 4Runner SUV. But now, the TRD moniker is making its way to the Camry and Avalon sedans. The TRD Camry and Avalon will have more agile handling, and unique TRD styling both inside and out.

The Toyota Camry TRD is based on the sporty SE model, while the Avalon TRD is based on the XSE model. Both retain the standard features of their parent models, but add TRD styling and performance features. Under the hood of each model is a 3.5-liter V6 engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission to deliver 301 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. Both also have cat-back dual exhausts, unique coil springs, larger brakes, and an aerodynamic body kit.

The Camry TRD has plenty of enhanced design features, such as a gloss black front grille with sport mesh insert, black sport SofTex-trimmed front seats with red accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching, and red seatbelts. Exterior color choices include Supersonic Red, Windchill Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic, and Midnight Black Metallic. The first three choices are two-toned.

The Avalon TRD is filled throughout with TRD logos on the floor and trunk mats, shift knob, and headrests. Its seats feature ultra-suede inserts. Like the Camry TRD, the Avalon TRD has plenty of red accents throughout its interior for an extra sporty vibe.

Both models are available for sale this month.
