[VIDEO] Hendrick Takes Delivery of First 2015 Corvette Z06
Rick Hendrick is no stranger to VINs with lots of zeros and a one at the end. An established dealer group chief and champion NASCAR team owner, Hendrick has a habit of bidding on the first production models for Corvettes and Camaros at charity auctions—and dropping lots of money to continue that tradition. Most recently, Mr. Hendrick stopped by the National Corvette Museum to pick up the very first 2015 Corvette Z06, which he bid on at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Collector Car Auction back in April. In total, he dropped $1 million for the new ‘Vette. (You can see him take delivery of the first 2015 Corvette Z06 in the video below.)
Hendrick is clearly a big fan of Chevy performance models. He has also recently bid $650,000 for the first 2014 Camaro Z/28, not to mention $1.1 million and $1 million for the first Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible, respectively.
The money bid on the first 2015 Corvette Z06 benefited the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Whenever Hendrick gets the first production model, he gets it in black, but this time around, the gearhead also bid on the third Z06, which is the one he plans to drive. He got that one in silver.
