Volvo hit is 12th straight month of sales growth thanks to sales of the XC60

Volvo Cars is celebrating the beginning of the second half of 2014 by notching its 12th consecutive month of sales growth globally. June sales were up 5.4 percent with particularly strong growth in China and Sweden. All told, Volvo moved 43,132 cars globally during the month.

The strong June performance also puts Volvo Cars up 9.5 percent through the first half of the year. Global Volvo deliveries thus far total 229,013 cars.

“The ability to grow consistently over a 12 month period underlines the transformation underway at Volvo Cars,” says Alain Visser, Senior Vice President Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars. “With the first six months of the year now behind us, we can conclude that Volvo has had a strong start to 2014.”

Volvo Car sales were up 30.8 percent in China with the XC60, S60L, and V40 leading the way. Monthly sales totaled 7,583 cars, bringing year-to-date totals in China up to 38,555 (a 34.3 percent increase).
