With Only 275 Units Available, 2019 Cadillac CT6-V Quickly Sells Out
Earlier this week, we wrote about how only 275 2019 Cadillac CT6-V performance sedans would be sold in the United States. Well, all of those units have now been spoken for.
The CT6-V, with a starting price of $88,790, sold out just minutes after it was made available for preorder via dealer websites. Buyers will be able to pick up their vehicles sometime in mid-2019.
They’ll also get a special bonus as part of the vehicle’s cost: a two-day stint at the Cadillac V-Performance Academy in Nevada, with tuition and luxury accommodations paid for.
Tech Tutorials: How to get the most out of Cadillac’s cutting-edge technologies
A few days of training will be helpful for learning to handle the fearsome power of the CT6-V. The car’s all-new engine, the twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V8 Blackwing, delivers a mighty 550 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. The CT6-V will also be equipped with a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission, standard all-wheel drive, and a specially recalibrated Magnetic Ride Control suspension.
Although the CT6 is currently the only Cadillac vehicle to carry GM’s innovative Super Cruise semi-autonomous technology, it looks like that system won’t be available on the CT6-V. That’s OK, though — after spending that much money on a high-performance car, why let it do all the driving for you?
If you really wanted a CT6-V but missed out, take comfort in the fact that Cadillac decided not to cancel the CT6 after all — and keep your fingers crossed that the luxury brand will offer the CT6-V trim for the 2020 model year, too.
