2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overview
What’s New for the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee
For 2013, the Jeep Grand Cherokee offers new standard features on Overland Summit models, as well as a new Trailhawk edition.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Exterior
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a midsize SUV in which hardcore sporting utility meets refinement and luxury. Where other car makers have failed, Jeep has succeeded and drivers don’t have to sacrifice high-end materials and technology for true off-roading capability, and vice-versa.
The Grand Cherokee features Jeep’s unique grille, standard 17-inch alloy wheels, and bold curves. This SUV is prepared to comfortably take you anywhere you want to go.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Performance
Every 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee (except the SRT8) comes standard with Chrysler’s 3.6-liter V6 which creates 290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. According to Edumnds.com, “Most folks will find enough power in the V6’s spirited and smooth delivery and its five-speed automatic transmission.”
However, if power is the name of the game, the Grand Cherokee SRT8 boasts a 6.4-liter V8 with 470 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque.
Several other trims, packages, and options allow buyers to create a Cherokee that will specifically fit your needs, whether it’s rugged trail riding or long-distance luxury.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Efficiency
The 3.6-liter V6 (four-wheel-drive) gets an estimated fuel economy of 16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined. The beefed up SRT8’s massive power will cost you a bit at the pump, with fuel ratings of 12 mpg city, 18 mpg highway, and 14 mpg combined.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Interior
The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee keeps up with the best of them when it comes to interior design and luxurious comfort. High-end and soft touch materials, comfortable seats, and a clean, modern design are built on practicality and utility.
The Cherokee also offers plenty of space for backseat passengers and cargo – boasting 35 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, and about 69 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat.
2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Safety
The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes standard with four-wheel antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints.
In the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tests, the Grand Cherokee received the highest possible rating of “Good” in the frontal-offset, side and roof-strength crash tests.
