Chevy Reveals 2015 Silverado University of Texas Edition
Chevrolet today announced its 2015 Silverado University of Texas Edition, just in time to kick off the Longhorns football season.
Of course, the special edition Silverado will wear the bold Sunset Orange Metallic, as no true Longhorns fan would accept anything else. The 2015 Silverado University of Texas Edition will also come with special UT graphics on the bed and tailgate, and chrome side steps. Other content for the 2015 Silverado University of Texas Edition includes a spray-in bed line, as well as 20-inch polished aluminum wheels and body color mirrors and door handles on the LT trim, and 20-inch chrome wheels and chrome mirrors and door handles on the LTZ trim. Both trims get a Texas Edition badge.
It’s no surprise that Chevy created a Silverado geared specifically toward the University of Texas. Last year, Chevy, the athletics program at UT, IMG College, and the Texas Exes UT student alumni association announced a multi-year sponsorship last year. Plus, Texas is known as the heart of truck country, so what more appropriate place to create a special edition pickup?
“There is no more appropriate place to showcase the stronger, smarter, more capable Chevrolet Silverado than in the heart of truck country,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet director of Truck Marketing. “The special-edition Silverado is a natural fit for Chevrolet in Texas, where a Longhorn fan lives in one out of every three households, and those fans are almost twice as likely as average consumers to buy a truck.”
The 2015 Silverado University of Texas Edition package will come at an additional $795 and will go on sale across the country (not just in Texas) starting next month. Do note: the UT package will only be available on a Silverado Double Cab in the LT or LTZ, or a Crew Cab in the LTZ, with the Texas Edition package.
