Ford China Sales in July Climb 25 Percent; Mondeo Up 807 Percent
That's no typo: the Mondeo was 807 percent better last month than it was in July 2013. How's that for year-over-year improvement?

Ford has been on a tear in China, and said tear continued in July as Ford China sales topped 90,775 units. This marked a 25 percent year-over-year increase and pushed the brand’s to-date sales in the world’s largest automotive market to 640,031 vehicles, keeping with a pace that will likely see Ford smash its sales record for China from 2013.

2014 Ford Kuga
Changan Ford (CAF) accounted for 64,130 vehicles in July, which was a 19 percent year-over-year jump from 2013. Sales of the Kuga and Ford EcoSport were big contributors to CAF’s success, with the former up 10 percent with 10,450 vehicles sold and the latter up 7 percent with 7,302 vehicles sold.
And in this month’s edition of “numbers you don’t see a lot of in end-of-month sales reports,” the Mondeo moved 10,154 units for an 807 percent year-over-year increase. Chris Tucker, Ice Cube, thoughts?
To date, Changan Ford is up 36 percent; the Kuga is up 63 percent, the EcoSport is up 83 percent, and the Mondeo is up 151 percent.

Jiangling Motors Corporation, Ford’s commercial vehicle investment, accounted for another 22,031 sales. JMC sales were up 33 percent from July 2013 and remain up 22 percent to-date.
As a part of Ford’s sweeping expansion plan, an additional 15 new models are scheduled to be introduced in China by the end of 2015. Construction is also underway at three new manufacturing plants, which will supplement the seven plants Ford currently operates in the country.
Ford China sales in 2013 totaled 935,813 units, and the current pace could well result in Ford moving more than 1 million units in China alone by year’s end.
