Nissan Adds 190HP 1.6-Liter DIG-T to Pulsar
Nissan is looking to jazz up its Pulsar lineup with the addition of the 1.6-liter DIG-T turbo four engine, which will bring its 190 horsepower to Nissan’s C-segment hatch in Spring 2015.
The new 1.6-liter DIG-T is a part of Nissan’s effort to make the Pulsar more exciting for younger consumers—a point further extrapolated by the revelation of the Pulsar NISMO Concept. While the engine beneath the hood of the NISMO’d concept returns 250 horsepower, the production Pulsar with the 1.6-liter DIG-T is no slouch at 190 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.
Then there’s also the matter of it returning a bit more than 39 miles per gallon on the highway. Not bad, Nissan. Not bad at all.

All Pulsar models equipped with the 1.6-liter DIG-T also get a number of upgrades at the Acenta and Tekna trim levels, including bespoke alloy wheels, sportier headlamps with a unique black finish, and chrome tipped exhaust on the outside and distinctive white stitching and alloy sports pedals on the inside.
All of this is really great. Significantly less great: the Pulsar and its 1.6-liter DIG-T are likely only bound for European marketplaces.
Always worth noting: Americans need hatchbacks, too.
