This is one of the first images of the 2016 Lexus LX570, as leaked from popular Kodansha auto magazine, Best Car. The text below the LX 570 translates to ‘Lexus Flagship SUV’.
Motoring suspects that this photo, printed in Best Car this week, was taken from a leaked Lexus brochure. These big changes to the grille are consistent with current speculation, however, there is not enough text to really be sure of what we’re looking at, here. Speculation hinges on the accompanying photo of the Land Cruiser 200, which we reported on just this week.
The Lexus LX 570 is built on the same platform as the Land Cruiser 200, so it makes sense that the LX 570 could be making its debut alongside the Land Cruiser 200 later this year. Here in the states, the LX 570 currently puts out 383 horsepower and 403 pound-feet of torque via the 5.7-liter V-8. There aren’t any big changes expected here, so look out for more of a difference in aggressive design than engine numbers.
Here, we see the same kind of ‘spindle grille’ design as the previously revealed Land Cruiser. This grille is busier than ever, with grille features covering the entire front of the car, from hood to bumper. The interior is lush as ever, with the same basic design as the 2013 version with a new dash layout.
While we don’t have many details yet, this lead on the 2016 Lexus LX 570 looks promising. We will stay abreast of any updates of Japan and keep you posted.
