The Ford F-Series is no stranger to winning top awards, and the continued advances made by Ford to make its trucks smarter, tougher, and more capable only ensures that this trend will continue for some time. The latest major prize to be earned by a Ford truck comes from PickupTrucks.com/Cars.com, which named the 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty King Ranch its “Best Premium Three-Quarter-Ton Pickup Truck of 2017.”
Earlier this year, Cars.com also named the F-150 Raptor its Best Pickup Truck 2017.
Ford on the Cutting Edge: Next-generation driver assist technology protects drivers and pedestrians alike
“Like a great all-around athlete, the new Ford F-250 has the powertrain of a bulldozer, and the interior features and technology of a luxury hotel room. If we had to tow our monster trailer around the country, we’d want to call this Super Duty home,” wrote Mark Williams in his bottom line for PickupTrucks.com’s 2017 Three-Quarter-Ton Premium Truck Challenge.
The F-250 Super Duty King Ranch topped the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LTZ Midnight Edition, 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn, and 2017 Nissan Titan XD Platinum Reserve by a comfortable margin, topping the field in terms of highest GVWR, highest GCWR, best David Sam downhill braking run, and quietest interior when idling. Out of 21 tests administered by the experts at Cars.com/PickupTrucks.com, the F-250 finished first or second in 14 tests.
“We’ve listened to our customers who depend on three-quarter ton trucks to get the job done, whether that’s the work truck hauling equipment and tools, or the RV-er traveling cross country with their boats and campers, it’s clear the editors of Cars.com recognize Ford Super Duty delivers on best-in-class towing, luxury and technology that our customers expect,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager.
Additionally, the F-250 Super Duty XL 4×2 topped competitors from Chevy, Nissan, and Ram in the website’s three-quarter-ton work truck challenge, with editors noting its “striking interior layout and quality materials, its numerous large and small storage spaces, top-notch acceleration and braking feel, more bed tie-downs and lighting features than the others.”
