The team at Auto Trader Canada pitted four of the biggest, baddest trucks going today against one another in their 2019 Full-Size Pickup Truck Comparison Test. Topping the field was the 2019 Ford F-150 Limited 4×4, which conquered the 2019 Ram 1500 Sport Crew Cab 4×4, the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4, and the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss.
The four trucks all shared the similarities of crew cab/short box configurations and four-wheel drive, and each was tested in a variety of conditions both urban and rural, on-road and off-road, and with and without a 1,134-kilogram Yamaha AR195 sport boat attached.
In the end, the F-150 Limited outclassed its three competitors with an overall score of 8 out of 10, scoring the highest marks of the field for seating (7.7), interior (8.2), powertrain (7.9), fuel economy (a near-perfect 9.6), and value (6.8). What’s more, in the categories where it wasn’t first — design, suspension and chassis, and towing — it was nipping at the heels of the leader.

Said Auto Trader’s Jeff Wilson of the winner: “There’s a reason the F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in this country for so many years. It is poised and elegant, yet robust and rugged. It just does everything well.”
The 2019 Ford F-150 Limited was lauded for combining the high-end amenities of the range-topping luxury trim with the might of Ford’s Twin-Turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine, which puts out an incredible 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.
AT’s summary of the F-150 Limited puts it pretty succinctly: “With its 2019 Limited, Ford has brought together its most powerful truck engine with its more luxurious truck interior, resulting in a hard-working truck with incredible power that coddles you down the road. It is a truck that none of us would be disappointed with driving day in and day out. Heck, the seats will even give you a massage while you drive!”
