When one thinks of powerful cars, it’s likely that the Mitsubishi Colt isn’t one of the first things that springs to mind. In fact, it might actually be one of the last: it’s a passable little econohatch that just manages to achieve all the requirements necessary to be technically considered a vehicle, but it’s certainly never wowed anyone anywhere. The tuners at Boba Motoring, apparently, are not sane people and thought that this was a stigma that desperately needed changing. As a result, they whipped up a 978-horsepower Mitsubishi Colt that recently ran a 9.29-second quarter-mile at Public Race Days at Hockenheimring.

Equipped with a 2.0-liter 16V 4G63 and an FP3794R turbocharger that adds a ridiculous 49 psi of boost and runs on E85 fuel, the 978-horsepower Mitsubishi Colt took home the top spot in open class with a sub-10 quarter-mile. The Colt was tuned and mapped by Matthias Boldt, and it truly must be seen to be believed.
