MotorWeek Honors Volkswagen Atlas with Best Large Utility Award
After evaluating over 150 sport utility vehicles, trucks, and cars on their value, technology, fuel efficiency, practicality and driving performance, the editorial staff at MotorWeek has determined the Volkswagen Atlas as the Best Large Utility in its 2018 Drivers’ Choice Awards.
Learn Why: You need to rotate your tires
“Even though Volkswagen was a bit late to the large crossover party, they more than made up for lost time with the Atlas. Not only is the Atlas roomier than just about everything else it competes against; it’s extremely comfortable, quiet, and packed full of technology that’s easy to use. The Volkswagen Atlas fits the needs of a growing, and on-the-go family, perfectly.” said MotorWeek creator and host, John Davis.
The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is available in five trims: S, SE, SE with Technology, SEL, and SEL Premium, which are equipped with standard front-wheel drive (FWD). 4MOTION® all-wheel drive (AWD) is available on certain trims.
Drivers have the choice of two engines in this mid-size family sedan, a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder and a 3.6-liter V6 engine. This 3.6-liter V6 delivers 276 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque.
“We are very proud of this win for Atlas,” said Derrick Hatami, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Volkswagen of America, Inc. “Volkswagen is expanding its lineup with great new vehicles like the Atlas to offer better products with broader appeal to American families. Awards like this serve as proof point that we are hitting the mark.”
