2015 Kia Optima Gets Updated Tech, Interior Refinements
The all-new 2015 Kia Optima has arrived with a number of updates over the 2014 model, especially in terms of new technology and a refreshed interior. Available trims on the 2015 Optima include LX, EX, SX, SX Turbo, and SX-Limited.
Kia’s next-generation UVO eServices will be offered optionally on EX, SX, and SX Turbo, and standard on the SX-Limited. These services will keep drivers better tuned in to their vehicles via smartphone technology. Geo Fencing, Driving Score, Speed Alerts, and Curfew Alerts are four new services that have been integrated into the updated system. Drivers of the LX model will be able to opt for the previous version of UVO (sans the four new services).
Steering wheel-mounted buttons for cruise control; have been moved to the right-side spoke for added functionality, and the SX-Limited’s sporty D-shaped wheel even gets all-new brushed bezels. Black cloth is now available for the LX trim.
The 2015 Kia Optima takes luxury to the exterior as well, offering an all new Smokey Blue metallic paint. Bright Silver and Metal Bronze will give way to Sparkling Silver and Platinum Graphite, respectively. The acoustic laminated windshield that found its way onto the 2014 Optima SX-Limited will now be available across the 2015 Kia Optima lineup.
Drivers will have their choice of one of two Theta II powerplants that boast direct injection technology: a 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder or a 2.0-liter GDI turbo.
