60 Mile Range on the Volt? Yes Really.

Officially, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) gives the Chevrolet Volt an all-electric range of 38 miles at full charge, before the gasoline engine kicks in. Most Volt drivers, however, say, “Nay, EPA, you are wrong.” In fact, one driver has demonstrated that he gets a 60 mile range on the Volt.
Yes, you read that correctly. A 60 mile range—on the Volt.
You can see on the left side where it indicates that the driver’s all-electric range is 60 miles.

Of course, to get to 60 miles on one charge, you’ve probably got to be an expert driver in the perfect weather and traffic conditions, but it can be done. And if not 60, a lot of drivers are at least seeing high 40s and even 50s.
