GMC Monday Night Football Wrap Ushers in New Season
Last night, the Detroit Lions took on (and massacred) the New York Giants at the first Monday Night Football game to be held in Detroit in 43 years. To mark the occasion, the GM Renaissance Center’s tallest tower was given a GMC Monday Night Football wrap, 150 feet wide and 260 feet tall.
The tower has actually been wrapped about ten times since back in 2005, and each time is a meticulous process that involves a whole lot of work, which can only be done by two people at a time, due to safety and weight restrictions. The total process took about 70 hours.
The wrap is actually printed on 70/30 perforated vinyl film so that those inside the building can still see outside. Special lighting was used during the game so that it could still be viewed at night.
“The GMC Ren Cen wrap utilized the latest large format digital printing technologies. This Eco friendly latex printing process ensures great image quality while also being socially responsible,” explained Jim Whitehead of i.M. Branded.
GMC carries a big presence within the NFL. Last night kicked off the 10-city 2014 GMC Ultimate Tailgate Monday Night Football Tour, which will be making stops in all the host cities of MNF games this season. GMC is also continuing the Never Say Never series this football season.
