Cynthia Simons, Customer Service Manager, is Who Makes a Honda
Honda is now halfway through its 12-part What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series, thanks to the release of the sixth installment below, which focuses on Cynthia Simons, an assistant manager at the Honda Customer Support Center in Chino, California.
After being diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy for a full year, Simons was overwhelmed by the support that her friends and co-workers provided. The experience inspired her to found the Cynthia’s Heart Foundation, which donates food and household items to the less fortunate.
“The goal we have is not only to be able to give back to those in need, but also to show that everyone has the ability to give back, no matter how they can contribute,” said Simons. “Little becomes much when it is placed in the hands of someone with nothing.”
The video series focuses on a diverse group of Honda employees, and is meant to illustrate the variety of career paths available at Honda, and to illustrate how model Honda employees give back to their community and illustrate Honda’s core tenets. One of those tenets is Honda’s commitment to showing respect for the individual, which is where Simons comes in.
“What was most impressive to me is that a company as large as Honda would have respect for the individual as part of its Honda philosophy,” Simons said. “Respect for the individual is so important because we have to have that same spirit with the customers every day.”
