Ford Bringing 2015 Edge to Frankfurt Motor Show
Ford recently launched its all-new and better-in-every-conceivable-way 2015 Ford Edge in North America, and it aims to expand its launch to Europe in its continuing effort to increase its European market share. Accordingly, Ford has announced that it will be debuting the Euro-spec version of the Edge at this month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

“Globally, Ford has been at the forefront of SUVs for decades, and is now delivering a European line-up that offers the stylish design, car like dynamics, and fuel efficiency that are key to why SUVs have become so popular in Europe,” said Jim Farley, chairman and CEO of Ford of Europe. “As demand for SUVs continues to grow, so will the range that Ford offers—from rugged models with true go-anywhere ability to sporty models designed to suit urban lifestyles.”
The Edge will be the first of five new or redesigned SUVs and crossovers that Ford will roll out in Europe over the next three years. Ford is anticipating sales of 200,000 SUVs in Europe by next year, a lofty 300% increase from sales in 2013. It’s anticipated by IHS that SUV sales will rise from 20% of all passenger vehicle sales in Europe last year to 27% of all sales by 2020.
Joining the Edge in Frankfurt will be enhanced versions of the Kuga and EcoSport, the latter of which is expected to turn up on the American market in some form or fashion over the next five years.
