BMW Unveils Limited Edition 35 Years for the 2020 M5
The BMW M5 debuted in 1984 and was based on the iconic E28 5 Series. It was manufactured in October of that year and was released as a 1985 model, marking 2020 as its 35-year anniversary. As such, BMW unveiled a limited Edition 35 Years option for the 2020 M5, giving the sports sedan a handful of exclusive luxury features. The M5 Edition 35 Years commemorates the vehicle’s power and capability through the years, and only 350 units will be sold globally, with just 35 of those sold in the U.S.
Beautifully designed, inside and out
Starting on the outside, the limited model will sport a metallic BMW Individual Frozen Dark Grey II paint with special pigmentation that creates the appearance of a silk matte finish. The 20-inch M light alloy Y-spoke wheels finished in Graphite Grey accent the exclusive paint color perfectly while the brake calipers shine in a high-gloss black.
Why Buy BMW? There are plenty of reasons to consider this luxury brand
Inside, the Edition 35 Years M5 will include M Sport Merino black full leather seats with contrasting beige stitching. A shimmering, gold anodized aluminum carbon finish covers the center console, door trim, and instrument panel for an ultimate touch of luxury. Finally, true to its German roots, the door sill plates will have “M5 Edition 35 Jahre” engraved on them.
As with most BMW vehicles, the M5 Edition 35 Years can be equipped with a bevy of optional packages that include everything from heated and ventilated seats to wireless charging and driver-assistive systems. However, one thing that’s standard on this limited model is its potent powertrain. Under the hood is an M TwinPower Turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 that can generate an intense 617 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, and can get the sport sedan from 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.
Pre-orders are currently being taken on the BMW website. In the meantime, you can also sign up for updates on the exclusive vehicle as well as any additional exciting news from the German automaker.
